What to expect from Burke Cleland the Personal Trainer

Hello friend,

 I wrote this article to give you an idea of what to expect from my personal training services and also from my personal training studio located in Ottawa.

1) What to expect during your first consultation
During our first Personal Training Consultation you will not have to bring any gym clothing. The initial consultation is free because I would like for us to get to know each other and have a clear understanding of what to expect from each other. During the first session, we will work towards developing strategies that will help you incorporate new habits suitable for your lifestyle and goals. I will also gather the information I need from you so I can begin developing your exercise program. 
2) The exercise experience
Having a quiet facility, free from distractions, can allow us to focus on our most import objective and that is YOU!  You don’t have to bring a membership card or worry about waiting for equipment. You are paying top dollar for personal training and you deserve to have a stress free environment so that you can understand each exercise and its purpose, therefore improving your exercise experience.
Our training does not end after our sessions; rather I like to give you the tools to apply activities to your daily routines. I like to look at my Personal Training skills similar to coaching skills; together we adopt achievable objectives so you can implement behaviour changes in to your lifestyle. 
3) Programs
Like most trainers I do have a back ground in weight lifting, stretching and interval training. But unlike most, I also have a back ground in kickboxing, and Pilates. I have over a decade of experience in personal training for specific goals and client needs. Every year I have always added to my certifications increasing my knowledge in this field. My main goal with you is to balance what motivates you with what is necessary to give the results you are expecting to see. I also include program cards to help you keep things consistent for when I am not around.
4) How often do you see me
The number of visits can vary from client to client. This can be anywhere from three personal training sessions per week to only two personal training sessions every six weeks. I have had great success with clients using this approach because not everyone is the same when it comes to motivation and compliance. My main objective with each client is to make sure we are able to achieve at least an 80% compliance with the behavioural objectives set during our session. If a client needs more attention to achieve this goal then they are better off seeing me more often. If you prefer to come in less and are complaint with the program then you don’t have to come in as often.
5) Parking and location
You can feel free to park in my drive way or on the street; you will not have to worry about parking tickets. On the left side of my driveway you will see a black iron gate, enter through that gate then proceed to the back door of my house. My studio has a separate entrance from the house. No need to knock just come on in and make your way into the studio.
